Printing Black & White to a Copier:

When printing to the copier you will be using a function called “Secure Print”. We use this feature to cut down on waste but also to help with security of what's being printed.

When you hit "Print" in the Print Windows you will be prompted with a window (seen Below).

If the copier has color capability you will see the following windows:

  1. Department ID: This ID determines color capability or not. 100101 is default for Black & White
  2. PIN: THIS IS NOT USED Leave Blank

If the copier only has Black and White capability you will only see the following window:

  1. Document Name: The name of the document you are printing, this is important because you will need to know this at the copier. (You can edit this to make it more identifiable)
  2. User Name: Your User Name. (Leave as is)
  3. PIN: this is a pin you will need to confirm at the printer, by default the pin is set to “1”. (You can change this to any number if you want to make it more secure.)

Printing Color to a Copier:

When printing in color, keep in mind that that each page cost the school 4.5 cents.

Before you hit print, you will be to click "Preferences"

Change the "Color Mode:" from "Black and White" to "Color"

Click "OK"

Then "Print"

You then will be greeted by window below

  1. Department ID: This ID needs to be changed to the ID you received from your team leader (100101 will NOT WORK)
  2. PIN: THIS IS NOT USED Leave Blank

Click "OK", then you will see:

At the Copier:

When you get to the copier you will want to click on "Secure Print". (shown below)

If this is a color capable copier you will see this screen:

This is where you enter the Department ID used at the Computer with the keypad right of the screen. PIN is left BLANK

Your Select your Print Job(s). Then Click "Secure Print" at bottom right.

It will ask for you PIN, this is where you use the pin used at the computer. (Default is 1)
